Getting After It With Diana Davis

INTUITIVE. COURAGEOUS. CREATIVE.

What made you decide to start Diana Davis Creative?

I've always had a passion for creating and helping others. Photography has been my jam since I was a kid, literally. I had always done DDC as a side hustle but always wanted to take it full time. Three years ago I had that opportunity and I've never looked back! Now I coach other creatives on how to do the same thing and it's so rewarding.

How would you describe your style of photography and design?

Vibrant and empowering. Even though I've stepped back from my design career almost entirely, it still holds a special place for me. Photography and business coaching allows me to step into my zone of genius fully and empower other women entrepreneurs whether it's from behind the lens or beside them as a coach.

You’ve worked with tons of huge brands like Native and AMG Snacks, what advice would you give to other aspiring photographers who are looking to land the clients of their dreams?

Get clear on who those dream clients are! You can't call them in if you don't know who they are. I had Native on my "Desires" list when they reached out to do a shoot with me because we had been DM'ing on IG. Interact with those dream clients, get clear, and don't be afraid to reach out and have an organic conversation with them!

What does a typical 1:1 coaching session look like for you?

I'm a big advocate of meeting you where you're at. A 1:1 session with me looks a lot like sitting down at a "virtual" coffee shop with a big ol' mug of matcha and digging into your business strategy with you so you can start moving the needle and loving what you do. Sometimes it's more about logistics and numbers and sometimes it's a straight up mindset call.

Tell us a bit about Camp Clarity and why you started it. What do you like most about doing group coaching sessions?

Camp Clarity is a 90 day group course full of creative entrepreneurs (photographers, designers, writers) who are so good at their skill but have no idea how to put themselves out there to start landing their dream clients and grow a profitable business. The best part of Camp Clarity is the community. Entrepreneurship can be lonely and the Camp Clarity members become a family fully supporting each other on this journey. It's a beautiful thing to facilitate and watch!
